Louisville Slugger Atlas 2.0 2027 (BBCOR) Bat Review

The players felt that the Atlas 2.0 could make solid contact on a consistent basis, but those who were looking for fly balls were not as happy with the contact, bringing the rating down to a 3.60/5.

Look and feel finished at 3.60/5. The swing weight was popular, but there were genuine criticisms about the grip and aesthetics. Many felt the knob was too wide at the base of the grip and did not sit comfortably in their hands. The light blue design had mixed reviews, and the deep sound was generally seen as a positive but had one searing review.

Sweet spot received the lowest player rating for the bat. Testers felt the barrel required precise contact to maximize performance, with off-center contact producing a more noticeable decline in quality of contact.

The Louisville Slugger Atlas 2.0 2027 earned a 4.50/5 for balance, the highest rating the bat received from the players. They felt the bat found the optimal weight distribution to swing with ease while still having resistance and building momentum. 

The Atlas 2.0 earned a 3.50/5 for pop. The barrel was dependable at producing hard contact, but did not produce lift at the same rate as power focused bats.

Control finished at an impressive 4.40/5. Players were confident they could keep the barrel level and drive it through the zone for a smooth and accurate swing.

The Louisville Slugger Atlas 2.0 2027 averaged 86.62 mph in exit velocity, with a high of 94.87 mph. Compared to the baseline, it increased slightly by +0.46 mph (+0.53%). While the improvement was modest, the bat was still able to increase exit velocity on a consistent basis.

Average distance came in at 269.06 ft, with a best result of 313.34 ft. The Atlas 2.0 finished -16.62 feet below baseline, a -5.66% decrease. This decrease is not a knock on the bats ability to produce solid contact, but rather shows the Atlas 2.0 is better at producing hard, low liners rather than high arching fly balls. 

Sweet spot rate averaged 60.26%, finishing +0.08% relative to the baseline. While launch angle was not a standout category for the bat, the Atlas 2.0 stayed essentially neutral to the sweet spot rate, showing it still had some ability to get the ball in the air.

The bat produced a 32.05% hard-hit rate and finished an impressive +8.26% above baseline. As shown by the increase in exit velocity, the Atlas 2.0 excelled in hitting the ball hard on a very consistent basis.

Barreled rate averaged 11.54%, increasing by +4.92% relative to the baseline. Even without consistently high launch angles, the Atlas 2.0 hit the ball hard enough to significantly increase the barreled rate.

The Louisville Slugger Atlas 2.0 2027 averaged 68.08 mph in bat speed, with a best swing of 75.76 mph. The bat increased by +1.23 mph (+1.85%). This strong improvement supports the bat's excellent balance rating, showing hitters were able to generate additional swing speed while maintaining control throughout the swing.

Peak hand speed averaged 20.72 mph, with a top speed of 23.31 mph. The Atlas 2.0 decreased -0.08 mph (-0.42%) below the baseline. This near neutral result signifies that hitters were able to keep their hands steady and consistent as they swung and were able to whip the barrel through the zone.

Time to contact averaged 0.146 seconds, with a best mark of 0.124 seconds. The bat finished +0.000 seconds, or +0.18%, relative to baseline. The bat took slightly longer to reach the ball, but not enough to significantly hinder the hitters ability to adjust across the strikezone.
